Character-count handoff: name the counting rule

When handing off text for a limited field, provide the exact final string, maximum allowed length, count returned by the destination, and the counting unit if known. Mark whether spaces, line breaks, and emoji count differently. Do not rely on a screenshot of a number without the text version being counted. This lets the next editor shorten safely and prevents a later formatting change from pushing the content over the limit.
