Trilium Notes alternatives: preserve revisions and sync behavior

Trilium Notes can hold a rich, linked personal knowledge base. An alternative must preserve more than the visible text of each note.

Select a small notebook with nested notes, links, attachments, attributes, and revisions. Export it, import it into the candidate, and compare the resulting tree and search results. Edit offline on two devices and inspect how conflicts are surfaced when they reconnect. Rehearse restoring from a backup without modifying your main library.

Trilium's synchronization guide notes that conflict handling has its own rules, while its export documentation explains limits of flat-file interchange. Keep the original data directory and a separate backup until the new library is verified.
