A citation generator saves typing but cannot infer missing author, date, title, or publisher information reliably. Enter a source with known metadata, choose one style and edition, then compare the output with that style's official examples. Pay particular attention to author order, capitalization, date format, italics, URL, and access-date policy.
Run a second source with a missing author or date to see whether the tool uses the correct fallback instead of inventing a value. Report source type, entered fields, selected style, expected citation, and output. Avoid claiming a citation is perfect without a reference.
