Test KeePassXC with a small noncritical vault first. Add entries with unique passwords and TOTP where appropriate, open it on every device you intend to use, and check browser integration only if it fits your threat model. Make a backup, then restore it to a clean machine.
A local encrypted vault reduces reliance on a hosted account but makes file synchronization and key custody your responsibility. Decide how to prevent conflicting edits, where backups live, and what happens if a device or recovery key is lost before moving important credentials.
