AWS notes that the same event can be delivered more than once. For the Lambda API listing, the useful integration question is therefore what a duplicate invocation does to your business operation.
Use a stable event identifier and test two deliveries, including overlapping execution. Check the durable outcome, not merely the number of successful invocations. A handler that returns normally twice can still be wrong if it sends two orders downstream.
