File sync is successful when the right people get the right version and a mistake can be undone. Test Seafile with a small representative library before migrating shared work.
Create files with long names, nested folders, and a large binary. Share the library with two permission levels; edit from separate devices, then disconnect one and create a conflict. Verify version history, deletion recovery, and client behavior after reconnecting. Consult the Seafile manual for the exact edition and sync options.
Measure first-sync time, update latency, storage growth, and backup/restore of server data and metadata. Test user offboarding and link expiry. A smooth initial sync does not prove the team can recover from an accidental mass deletion or compromised account.
