In Lights Out, pressing a cell usually toggles that cell and its orthogonal neighbors. Because pressing twice cancels itself, each cell needs at most one effective press. Choose a first-row pattern, then chase lit cells downward by pressing beneath them; the final row reveals whether the choice works. Variants may change adjacency or wrap edges. For a puzzle issue, include grid size, initial state, toggle rule, edge behavior, and exact press sequence.
