Clear input matters more than clever cleanup. Record close to the microphone, limit room noise and overlapping voices, and leave a brief pause between speakers or sections. If you control the recording, test a few seconds first for volume and distortion.
Run speech to text on a short sample before processing a long file. Then review the transcript against the audio, especially names, numbers, dates, technical terms, and negations. Add speaker labels only when you can verify who spoke; automated separation can be wrong.
For publication, captions, or decisions, treat the transcript as a draft. Keep the audio available for checking disputed passages, subject to the recording's privacy rules.
