First-pass PDF split: test a short harmless document

Before splitting a confidential or complex PDF, run a harmless numbered document through the tool. Check whether ranges are inclusive, how cover pages affect numbering, and whether links or forms survive. Open the output in a second viewer and verify every page. If the behavior is understood, apply the same method to the real source, then inspect that result as well. The sample reduces procedural risk but cannot guarantee fidelity for a different PDF structure.
