Build a small dbt Core project with a staging model, a business model, and tests for uniqueness, nulls, and a relationship. Run it against representative data, deliberately introduce a bad row, and confirm the failure is clear to the team.
Version SQL and documentation together, and measure execution cost on the target warehouse. dbt does not replace source-data quality or ownership; decide who approves metric definitions and how a failed run affects downstream reports.
