Kubernetes can coordinate containers, but it also creates a control plane, networking, storage, security, observability, and upgrade responsibilities. Test a representative service with deployment, health checks, secrets, scaling, backup, and incident recovery. Compare that work with a simpler deployment option that meets the same availability target.
Document who will respond when a rollout stalls or a node disappears. If the team cannot operate and upgrade the cluster confidently, its scheduling features may not offset the complexity. Make the decision from measured reliability and maintenance effort, not industry momentum.
