A palette extractor finds colors present in a photo, not a complete interface system. Choose one dominant hue, one or two supporting colors, and neutral surfaces; you do not need to use every extracted swatch.
Sample from representative areas rather than a glare spot or deep shadow. Check how the colors appear on the actual background and use a contrast checker for text and controls. If the photo has transparency or unusual color profiles, inspect the result in the final design environment.
A palette should support hierarchy and readability, not merely reproduce the photo.
