If an image source, target dimension, crop instruction, or usage context is missing, do not quietly invent it. Record the gap and ask the content owner for the required input. You can continue with independent files, but mark the affected asset blocked and keep it out of the final export set.
A placeholder may help layout review, yet it must be labeled and replaced before publication. If no original exists, ask whether an alternative source can be licensed or created; stretching a small file rarely restores lost detail. Once the input arrives, run the same export and quality check as the rest of the batch. This keeps the final folder complete and auditable.
