A Zendesk proof of concept can create a ticket quickly; a dependable integration must preserve ownership, privacy, and state over time.
Questions to settle first
- Which ticket events are authoritative: creation, status changes, comments, tags, or assignments?
- Does the service account have only the permissions the workflow requires?
- How will pagination, rate limits, retries, and duplicate webhooks be handled?
- Which custom fields are required, and what happens when an administrator changes them?
- Are private comments and requester details excluded from logs?
Use idempotency or a local event ledger so a retry cannot create duplicate replies. Test with suspended users, deleted tickets, attachment failures, and out-of-order webhook delivery before enabling writes in a live support queue.
