Before cutting an audio clip, listen for the first consonant and the natural end of the final word. Leave a short lead-in and tail so speech does not sound chopped off. Start and end points on quiet audio are less likely to click than cuts through a waveform peak.
Use the audio trimmer to preview the edit, then export and listen to the exported file from beginning to end. Check that the intended sample rate, channels, and volume are preserved. If you use a fade, keep it subtle enough that it does not erase the first or last syllable.
A slightly longer clean clip is often better than an aggressively tight cut.
