When a download fails after retrying, note whether the second attempt resumes, restarts, or creates a second file. Record the approximate size reached, error text, browser or app version, and the time of each attempt. Check whether the final file opens or matches an available checksum; a full progress bar is not proof of integrity. Avoid exposing private links or filenames. One controlled retry after checking service status is enough for a report. Repeated rapid attempts can obscure whether the service or local storage caused the failure.
