Biome combines formatting and linting for supported projects, but a tool switch is only useful if it improves your actual development loop. Run it on a representative part of the repository alongside the current formatter and linter. Save the resulting diff and categorize rule differences as helpful, neutral, or noisy.
Check editor integration, CI behavior, ignore patterns, and any files the project expects a tool to process. Avoid a blanket auto-fix on the whole codebase before agreeing on configuration: unrelated formatting can bury meaningful changes. Migrate one package, make CI deterministic, and only then widen the scope. The measure is fewer review distractions without lost diagnostics.
