Create a small CouchDB dataset and replicate it between two instances. Edit the same document while disconnected, reconnect, and inspect how conflicts appear and must be resolved. Check query performance for the views your app needs and verify backups independently of replication.
Replication is powerful but does not mean every concurrent change merges automatically or every deletion is recoverable. Define document ownership, conflict policy, and restore procedure before moving important records.
