Generating bars is not enough: the selected symbology must accept the input and a separate scanner should decode the intended value. Test a valid Code 128 string and an EAN/UPC number with an appropriate check digit, then try an invalid length or character to see whether the tool rejects it clearly.

Export the symbol at a practical size and preserve quiet space around it; cropping or stretching can break scanning. A correctly scanning code still does not prove that a product number is assigned to a real item. Report symbology, input, encoded output, export size, and scanner result.
