URL slugs: choose a stable normalization rule
A slug turns a title into a URL segment. Before generating one, decide how to handle spaces, punctuation, case, accents, non-Latin scripts, and repeated separators.
Test a title with an apostrophe, an accented letter, an emoji, and two words that differ only by case. Confirm the output is readable and valid in your routing system. Slugs should be unique within their scope; if two titles normalize to the same value, add a deliberate suffix rather than silently replacing an existing page.
Once a public URL is used, changing its slug can break links. Preserve the old route with a redirect when renaming a page.
