Blender spans modeling, sculpting, animation, rendering, compositing, and more. A tool that excels at one stage may not replace the pipeline. Identify the two or three tasks that consume most of your time, then build a small scene that exercises them: for example, a rigged asset with materials, modifiers, and a final render.
Transfer the asset to each candidate and back. Inspect topology, UVs, animation curves, textures, and color output, not just the viewport screenshot. Include add-ons, team file exchange, render hardware, and licensing in the decision. A specialist tool may be worth adding alongside Blender even when it is a poor full replacement.
