Import a small but varied photo library into Immich: images, videos, live-photo pairs, albums, metadata, and files from multiple phones. Compare counts and dates with the originals, then test automatic uploads on the devices people use. Confirm that deletion and duplicate handling behave as expected.
Keep the source library untouched until you have restored an Immich backup and exported originals successfully. Photo software is convenient only when memories remain recoverable; a polished timeline is not a substitute for a tested backup.
