A triage handoff needs a snapshot of the queue: active incidents, promised response times, pending customer replies, priority rationale, and the next action for each open ticket. Grant the incoming owner the necessary access through approved channels. Ask them to acknowledge the handoff and check the highest-risk case first.
Do not mark tickets resolved simply to clear the previous owner’s queue. Preserve the original timeline, notes, and escalation history so the new owner can make informed decisions. If a ticket lacks sufficient information, assign a request for detail rather than guessing. Keep a fallback contact until the new owner confirms they can act on the queue.
