Tekton runs Kubernetes-native tasks and pipelines. Compare another CI system by implementing one real pipeline, not a hello-world job.
Build an image, run tests, publish an artifact, and deploy only after an approval gate. Inject a failing test and inspect logs, retries, cleanup, and credentials exposed to each task. Run two builds concurrently and see whether shared workspaces or caches affect correctness. Reproduce the pipeline on a fresh cluster and measure operational work to upgrade controllers.
Tekton's Pipelines documentation defines TaskRuns and PipelineRuns. A replacement is successful when the same release can be traced, rerun, and rolled back with the same security boundaries, not merely when a green badge appears.
