Install it on a staging site using the Shynet guide. Visit a known set of pages, including routes in a single-page app, and compare events with server logs. Test an ad blocker and a DNT-enabled browser. Inspect URLs or query strings for personal data before production collection.
Define retention, administrator access, backup, and export. A self-hosted tracker does not automatically satisfy local privacy law; verify the policy and data collection with qualified advice where needed. Compare alternatives on decisions they support, not exact agreement with server request counts.
