Beancount users often value plain-text double-entry records and reproducible reports. For a fair comparison, import a representative ledger containing currencies, price conversions, recurring entries, and assertions. Compare account balances and generated reports on the same date.
Try editing an old transaction and see whether validation catches an imbalance or broken reference. Assess version-control friendliness, reviewability of diffs, and the long-term readability of exports. A tool that offers faster data entry but traps the ledger in an opaque database may be a poor match. Keep the original files untouched until every balance is reconciled.
