A Matrix client is only part of the messaging experience. SchildiChat changes the client interface; delivery, encryption, federation, and history also depend on the homeserver and room configuration.
Join a disposable encrypted room with two devices. Test verification, media, notifications, thread/reply behavior, and a device replacement. If federation matters, invite someone from another homeserver. Inspect backup and key-recovery steps in the current SchildiChat project and Matrix guidance before moving important conversations.
Compare alternative clients against the same homeserver and rooms so server differences do not distort the result. Note which behaviors are client-specific and which belong to the protocol or server. A nicer message list is valuable only if members can read old encrypted messages after a device change.
