Synfig is worth testing with a scene that depends on reusable shapes and controlled motion. Its value is not that every frame magically appears; the question is whether its vector and parameter-based approach makes your specific revisions easier.
Animate a simple character turning, blinking, and moving against a layered background. Try a timing change halfway through, then alter a shared color or shape. Inspect the keyframes and interpolation rather than judging only the first playback. The Synfig documentation is the reference for the tools used in the trial.
Export a short sequence and compare it with the project preview for unexpected edges, flicker, or frame-rate differences. Save, close, and reopen the project with assets moved to a new folder to test portability. If your work depends on frame-by-frame texture, include that in the trial; if it depends on repeated vector motion, measure how much edit time Synfig saves.
