This workflow generates an email response from a webhook event. Because it can speak to a real person and may include private data, start with a draft-only mode. Authenticate the event, restrict what context reaches the AI step, and require a human to approve the recipient, factual claims, tone, and attachments.

Test malformed events, duplicates, missing recipient information, AI timeouts, and a message that should not be answered automatically. Log event IDs without exposing full message bodies or secrets. Add idempotency so a webhook retry cannot send two replies.

Only enable automatic sending for narrowly defined, low-risk cases after the failure paths are understood.

Authenticate and deduplicate webhook events before placing their content in a prompt. Treat every inbound field as untrusted instruction, minimize personal data, and prevent generated text from selecting recipients, attachments or credentials. Use draft-and-approve for financial, legal, security or account-sensitive messages. Enforce recipient and template allowlists, rate limits and loop prevention so automated replies cannot trigger each other. Record source event, model version, approval state and delivery result without storing unnecessary message secrets.
