Confirm the delimiter, whether the first row is a header, and how quoted fields are escaped. A comma inside a quoted address is data, not a new column. Check a few rows for consistent field counts and decide how blank cells should appear in JSON.
Then convert a small sample with CSV to JSON. Compare the resulting keys and values with the source, including leading zeros, dates, large numbers, newlines, and Unicode. Do not assume automatic type inference will preserve every identifier correctly; a postal code such as 00123 should usually remain text.
Validate the JSON syntax and test it in the application that will consume it.
