An ecommerce migration succeeds at checkout, not at the product grid. Sylius is a Symfony-based commerce platform, so the relevant question is whether your team can operate and extend it for your catalogue and markets.
Build a pilot with variable products, tax regions, shipping rules, discounts, and a payment sandbox. Run the entire path from browsing to refund; inspect stock and order state after failed payments. Then migrate a small real catalogue and verify images, URLs, customer accounts, and SEO redirects. Compare the engineering cost of customizations with a simpler hosted platform.
Test backups, upgrades, plugins, and support ownership before committing to Sylius. Keep a rollback plan for orders placed during the transition. A fast demo checkout does not prove that tax, fulfillment, and customer service can reconcile a real sales day.
