Readyset-style database acceleration should be compared using the application's actual read queries and write rate. A fast cached result is not automatically a correct or fresh result. Start with the Readyset alternatives page.
Workload trial
- Capture the slowest important queries and their parameter shapes, not only synthetic benchmarks.
- Run the same read/write mix against the source database and each candidate.
- Measure p50 and p95 query latency, source load, cache hit rate, and data freshness after updates.
- Test unsupported queries, schema changes, replication interruptions, and cold starts.
- Define the fallback when acceleration is unavailable or too stale.
Report the freshness target beside speed gains. If a cache shifts load but introduces unacceptable lag or operational risk, optimizing an index or query may be the better option.
