An encoded timestamp is neither secret nor reliably unique, so it should not be used as an authentication or reset token. Represent event time in UTC with a documented precision, but generate token entropy independently from a cryptographically secure random source. If a timestamp must be trusted, bind value, purpose, audience and expiry with a MAC or digital signature. Validate clock skew deliberately and reject expired tokens. Keep creation time as metadata rather than assuming it protects or randomizes the token.
