Bevy's Rust and ECS workflow can be compelling, but engine comparisons should end with a playable build. Implement one scene with input, animation, audio, save state, and a modest amount of gameplay logic in each candidate. Time iteration, debugging, and final packaging separately.
Review what happens when a component changes or an asset is missing; a quick prototype may hide maintenance costs. Test the platforms you plan to ship to, including build size and startup behavior. If you depend on Rust libraries or custom tooling, include that integration in the trial. Choose the engine whose workflow the team can sustain beyond the first tutorial.
