Alternatives / Cloud Storage

Storage comparisons should focus on what happens when two devices change the same file. Use the cloud-storage alternatives page to shortlist options, then run a controlled test.

• Upload a mix of small, large, and Unicode-named files from two devices.
• Edit one file offline on both devices and inspect conflict handling.
• Delete and restore a folder; verify version history and retention period.
• Test sharing permissions, link revocation, encryption boundaries, and export.
• Measure transfer speed and total cost including egress or extra users.

Keep an independent backup. Sync faithfully propagates mistakes and deletions; it is not a substitute for recovery.
