The finance API directory mixes products with very different data rights and freshness. A historical price feed cannot automatically serve a trading or account-balance workflow.
Before integration
- Specify the market, instruments, currencies, and required delay. Inspect the response timestamp and exchange timezone.
- Test corporate actions, missing trading days, market holidays, symbol changes, and currency conversion.
- Reconcile a small sample against an authoritative source and record tolerance for discrepancies.
- Check licensing for display, redistribution, storage, and commercial use.
- If account or payment data is involved, review consent, credential scope, revocation, and audit logging separately.
Show the as-of time beside any displayed number. If the feed is stale or unavailable, do not present the last value as live.
