The Abstract Holidays service scopes queries by country and year and distinguishes holiday types. The presence of a date in a response should not silently become a universal “closed” rule.

For the holiday API integration, preserve the returned classification and any relevant regional scope. Compare a sample against the calendar your organization actually follows before using it in scheduling. Employment, banking and shipping calendars can require different rules.
