A visual PDF comparison can reveal layout shifts, page additions, moved signatures, and changed images. A text diff is better for wording changes, but extraction can misread scanned pages or reorder multi-column text.
Start by confirming page count and order, then inspect changed pages. Check tables, links, annotations, fonts, and metadata if they matter to the document. For a consequential revision, read the changed sections in the final PDF instead of trusting a summary alone.
Neither comparison mode guarantees that every meaningful difference is detected.
