We process aggregate page-view and usage information through a self-hosted, cookieless analytics service. Where the applicable advertising choice permits, Google AdSense may additionally process advertising identifiers, approximate location, and browser or device information. Google advertising storage remains disabled until consent where consent is legally required.

We use a self-hosted, cookieless aggregate analytics service to understand site usage. It is the only analytics service on this site; no third-party analytics product measures your visit.

• The analytics service is self-hosted on our own infrastructure and sets no cookies
• It records aggregate page views, referrer, approximate country, and browser or device class — no cross-site or cross-device identifier is created
• Names, email addresses, and other directly identifying account data are never sent to it
• Google AdSense may set advertising cookies or identifiers where the applicable advertising choice permits
• Who asks for your advertising choice depends on where you are: in the EEA, the UK, Switzerland, and the supported US states, Google's own consent message asks and records it inside the AdSense tag
• Where your country's law requires permission and Google shows no message, this site asks with its own panel at the bottom of the page — one question, and refusing takes exactly as few clicks as allowing
• Where no such requirement exists you are not asked at all, and no advertising choice is stored for you
• To decide which of those applies, your IP address is converted to a country code on our own server using a local database. The address is not stored, not logged for this purpose, and never sent to another service
• Advertising storage, advertising user data, and advertising personalization stay denied until a choice is recorded, wherever consent is required
• You can reopen the panel and change your answer at any time through the ad preferences control
• Google AdSense is not requested on authentication, account, private, or public-profile routes
