An AES decryption result depends on more than the password or key. The algorithm mode, IV or nonce, authentication tag, text encoding, and ciphertext packaging must match the data's original format. Use a published test vector or disposable sample first; a plausible-looking string alone does not establish that decryption was correct.
For authenticated modes such as AES-GCM, altered ciphertext or the wrong key should fail authentication rather than return a usable plaintext. Do not upload live credentials or private files while the tool's data path is unknown. Report mode, input encoding, sample parameters, and expected outcome, omitting any secret key. See NIST's GCM specification for the authenticated-mode model.
