Audio conversion should preserve the intended program material while producing a valid target format. Use a short sample with speech and music, note its duration, channels, sample rate, and codec, then compare the exported file in a second player. Listen for clipping, silence, timing drift, or an unintended mono mix.
Lossy transcoding can reduce fidelity even if the file becomes smaller. Verify the selected bitrate or quality setting, file extension, metadata you care about, and actual playback duration. Do not infer success from a preview alone; report input and output formats, settings, file properties, and the first audible defect.
