A strong first Wordle guess tests common letters without too much repetition. But no opener wins every puzzle, and a rigid two-word script can waste clues the board has already given you.
After each guess, record letters in the correct spot, letters elsewhere in the answer, and letters ruled out. Be careful with repeated letters: a gray copy does not always mean that letter is absent if another copy was colored. Choose the next guess to separate plausible answers, subject to the game's vocabulary and hard-mode rules.
Sometimes an exploratory word is worth more than a near-answer; sometimes you can solve directly. Review the board rather than following a fixed rule. Try a puzzle at Wordle.
