A fixed second word can explore fresh letters, but it is not always the best move. The first guess may reveal enough information to justify solving immediately, and hard-mode rules may require you to reuse confirmed clues.
After guess one, separate confirmed positions, letters present elsewhere, and letters ruled out. Choose the next word to distinguish the remaining plausible answers. Sometimes that means five new letters; sometimes it means testing a repeated letter or a specific position. Avoid treating “never reuse a green on guess two” as a universal strategy.
The value of a guess is the uncertainty it removes under the current board. Play at Wordle and compare your choices after seeing the feedback.
