When changing a generated QR code's size, color, or error correction, decode both old and new exports. The payload should stay identical unless a destination change was intentional. Test readability at the actual display or print size, including low light or camera distance relevant to users. A changed pattern is not itself evidence of an error. Compare the decoded content and practical scan reliability, and record which settings changed.
