After splitting a PDF, open every output and compare its first and last pages with the intended range. Check page count and order, then inspect links, bookmarks, form fields, and readable text if they matter to the recipient. Remember that visible page labels may differ from physical page numbers when a document has a cover or roman-numbered front matter. A file existing on disk does not prove the correct pages were selected.
