Before extracting a large PDF, choose a page with the features most likely to fail: columns, tables, embedded fonts, or a scanned image. Run the conversion and compare the text with the rendered page for order and missing characters. If it fails, choose OCR or another tool before processing the whole document. Preserve the original file and check its sensitivity before using an online converter. A successful simple page is not enough to prove a complex document will extract cleanly.
