In a fleet dashboard, “assigned” and “running” should not share a success indicator. The balena device resource distinguishes running, pinned and target releases.
Use the balena Cloud directory entry to frame a rollout test with one device deliberately offline. Show its intended release separately from the last observed running release, and retain the observation time. Otherwise, a configuration update can make an incomplete deployment look finished.
