Choose a Cassandra workload with known read and write patterns, then design tables from those queries. Load enough data to expose partition size and distribution issues. Test concurrent writes, consistency settings, and the behavior when a node becomes unavailable.
Operational planning matters as much as throughput: repair, compaction, backups, and restore require deliberate procedures. Avoid choosing Cassandra solely for scale if a simpler database meets the actual workload.
