The developer-tools API directory includes code hosting, testing, CI, package, and analysis services. Pick an actual development operation before comparing them.
Integration exercise
- Use a throwaway repository and least-privilege token; trigger one operation through the API.
- Record request schema, response codes, pagination, rate-limit headers, and webhook signature verification.
- Repeat the request and determine whether it creates a duplicate job, commit, or artifact.
- Test cancellation, a failed job, and an expired token; the caller must surface failures clearly.
- Check artifact retention, audit logs, data export, and whether the API version can be pinned.
Keep credentials out of test output. A reproducible, versioned workflow is more valuable than a one-off success response.
